Well maintained and designed park (walking paths, stairs, benches...)! Great views! Helpful staff recommended best path and viewing sequence. Stairs are challenging coming up but there are rest breaks. Don't miss Inspiration Point!
A beautiful stop for some hiking. The trails were well maintained and the views were beautiful. We walked 3.5 miles and went up and down about 400 stairs but it was a delightful day.
A beautiful state park encompassing a river flowing through a canyon and a ton of waterfalls. Make sure you're in decent shape before you get here. You're going to walk up and down literally thousands of stairs before your day is over. There are signs warning you of what you're about to get into. As in literally the words "Strenuous hike" and a stair count.
Beautiful park. 4 stars because they don't allow drones. Was hoping to get some great aerial photos of the gorge.
Nice visitor center with a range of walking trails. The gorge is beautiful and has rich human history. Water releases are controlled by Georgia power and impact accessibility of the gorge floor. Release schedules are available online. Parking fees apply, as do permit free to access the gorge floor (these are also limited in number).
